Our member’s caregivers benefit by getting a much-needed respite while knowing their loved ones are with their Second Family.
The
Second Family MCC approach is based on the belief that individuals with
ADRD should be treated with love and compassion, while using
distinctive care tactics to provide meaningful interactions and enhance
lives. This approach is person-centered, utilizing My Story biographies, individualized care plans, personal choices, and two-way
communication to respect and honor each Member’s unique individuality.
We recognize that approach is one of the most important dynamics of
dementia care. Truly knowing our residents and establishing a positive
and trusting relationship, enables us to provide superior care to our
Members.
At Second Family MCC, within our person-centered approach, we employ dementia staging to assess each Member’s current
reality as early, middle, or late stage. This information enables us to
foster independence while maintaining safety. Dementia staging further
serves to nurture each Member with the appropriate level of care as well
as embracing and joining their journey.
